MAPS kicks-off Advocacy Planning meetings in Kogi
The Malaria Action Programmes for States (MAPS) in Kogi state, last week kick-started its Advocacy planning meeting towards advocacy visits to Bassa Local Government Area of the state.
The one day meeting which had in attendance MAPs state co-coordinator, MAPs BCC officer, State RBM Manager, members of the State ACSM and RBM/HE Bassa Local Government in attendance, had deliberated and planned the modalities towards an Advocacy visit to Bassa LGA to indentify the situation of Malaria in the LGA.
In his address, the Roll Back Malaria (RBM) Manager,Alhaji Hussein Akoh who also presided over the meeting had expressed appreciation to MAPS in the state that ACSM is effectively handled in all corners of the state.
Alhaji Akoh however appealed the partner, (MAPS) to do more so that at the end of the day, malaria can be totally eliminated from Nigeria, the most populous country in Africa.
Earlier, the MAPS BCC Officer for the state, Mr. Sam Olaniru had indentified the objective of the meeting as a forum for planning an effective advocacy visit to Bassa Local Government Council in order to indentify the actual situation of malaria in the Local Government Area.
The BCC officer who stressed that advocacy is a powerful tool for achieving set out goals, called, called on members to ensure that Advocacy being planned is successful.
The meeting which set up the team to undermine the Advocacy visit also discussed in its agenda, the experience sharing from previous advocacy visits, advocacy needs of Bassa LGA development Advocacy plan, agenda and logistics for the Advocacy visit and inputs from Representatives of MLG and Ca among other salient issues.
