Meshack Ubochioma: Nigeria winger joins Dundee United

Nigeria winger Meshack Ubochioma joins Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership.

The 22-year old joined the Scottish side from Hungarian side, Zalaegerszegi TE on a two-year deal, with an option for an additional year.

After putting pen to paper with the Scottish side, Ubochioma outlined the deciding factors behind his Tayside switch and ambitions for the season ahead in his first interview.

“I can’t wait for the fans to chant my name when I score my first goal at Tannadice,” he told the club media.

“I am looking forward to it. 10 goals and five assists will be good, and also, the team’s success is more important to me.

“I hope the team will have more success this season. It’s an all-round thing for me and the team.”

Meanwhile, hours after signing the player, he couldn’t feature in the opening match of the league season on Sunday.

Dundee United played out a 2-2 draw with rivals Dundee FC in the Dundee Derby.
