Wada made the pledge while inaugurating some tricycles purchased by Mopamuro Local Government and subsidised by 25 per cent.

Wada, who was represented by his Deputy, Mr Yomi Awoniyi, said the State Government was working on a lasting solution to enable the various councils in the state overcome their financial challenges and meet their obligations.

A statement issued by the press secretary to the Deputy Governor, Mr Michael Abu, said that Wada also commended the council for the youth empowerment initiative.

He said that youth empowerment was in consonance with his administration’s youth advancement and development programme.

The governor said that the youth advancement programme was geared towards re-orientation and positive engagement of its youths, women and other vulnerable groups.

He commended the Chairman of Mopamuro Local Government, Mr Funsho Daniyan, for prudent management of resources.

The governor said the dwindling monthly statutory allocation had affected all tiers of government, stressing that the situation called for sacrifice and prudent management resources.

Wada urged the beneficiaries of the scheme to reciprocate government’s huge investments by paying their monthly commitment in the revolving scheme.

He appealed to youths in the area to seek viable ventures that would make them economically buoyant and self reliant.

Earlier, Daniyan said that the subsidised tricycles were aimed at empowering the youths and make them self reliant.

He said that the balance of N160, 000 would be spread over eight months to ease repayment by the beneficiaries.

Daniyan also said that the council was passing through a difficult phase of not having enough financial resources to meet its promises to the people.

He said that the programme would be a revolving scheme to enable others to benefit.
