Morocco Engages in High-Level Conference Addressing Urgent Humanitarian Response for Gaza

An international conference focusing on the pressing humanitarian needs of Gaza commenced on Tuesday in the Dead Sea region, situated 40 kilometers south of Amman. The event saw the active involvement of Morocco.

Representing HM King Mohammed VI at the conference is Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch. This pivotal gathering, jointly organized by Jordan, Egypt, and the United Nations, has drawn participation from over 75 countries, including heads of state and government, as well as representatives from humanitarian organizations and international financial institutions.

Under the theme “The Call for Action: Urgent Humanitarian Response for Gaza,” the conference aims to strategize ways to bolster the global community’s efforts in addressing the dire humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.

Key objectives of the conference include identifying strategies for enhancing the international response to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, exploring effective mechanisms for coordinated action, and fostering consensus on practical measures to address immediate needs on the ground.

The conference holds significant importance given the urgency of the humanitarian situation in Gaza, where millions of people are grappling with profound challenges ranging from food insecurity to inadequate access to healthcare and essential services.

Through its active participation in this conference, Morocco reaffirms its commitment to international solidarity and collective action in alleviating humanitarian crises and supporting vulnerable populations worldwide.
