My People FC and Yobo FC, both of Lagos will today, Tuesday, February 3, kick start the third edition of the annual Multi Sports International pre-season tournament.

According to the fixture made available to our correspondent by the organiser of the competition which is scheduled for the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, four matches would be played daily starting from 7am in the morning.

The eight teams participating at the competition was shared into two groups with matches scheduled to start by 7am daily.

Dolphins who finished bottom of the log at the just concluded Super 6 organised by the League management company (LMC) in Abuja will be looking to make amends at the Multi-Sports championship.

Another Nigeria’s CAF confederation cup campaigners, Warri Wolves will play in Group B along with Sharks FC of Portharcourt, El-Knamei Warriors of Maiduguri and Non-League side, Freestan FC.

On match day one, El Kanemi Warriors will take on Freestan in the second match of the day by 9am. Afternoon session starting by 2pm will see Sharks taking on Warri Wolves while 3SC and Dolphins will play the final match of the day.

The group stage matches will end on Thursday while the semifinal has been fixed for Friday and final for Saturday.

According to the tournament coordinator, John Tata, the eventual winner of the tournament will go home with the sum of N400,000 while the runner-up will be rewarded with the sum of N200,000.

The Multi-Sports International pre-season tournament is designed to help Nigerian clubs prepare adequately for continental football engagements and the domestic football leagues.

There will also be award for journalists who have been covering the event since inception three years ago.
