Full Speech of Price Abubakar Audu following his emergence as Kogi All Progressive Congress governorship flagbearer for the upcoming November 21 guber election in the state.

“Dear Delegates/ party stalwarts/ supporters, Today (Saturday) we mark a new threshold in our struggle and resolve to make Kogi great again. I dedicate my victory today to almighty God and Secondly, to all the delegates and the party stalwarts of our dear party, the APC ( All Progressives Congress) who have laboured so hard to ensure this victory. Without your love and unflinching support, we will not be celebrating today. I thank you all.

“It was Thomas Hardy who once said ” when shall the softer, saner politics, whereof we dream, have play in each proud land?” well, in Kogi state APC primaries, we played sane politics. Many thanks to his excellency, Mallam. Nasir El- rufai and his team for conducting a free, transparent and credible primary election that was keenly contested.

“Today’s victory is a victory for all. The triumph of hope over despondency, courage over fear and the triumph of the people’s collective will. Never again, shall we be held down by the shackles of those who use power to enslave their own people. Never again shall we live in poverty in the midst of plenty.

“I extend my hand of fellowship to all those who contested alongside with me…my victory is your victory. There is no “victor and no vanquished”. It is a victory for all. A victory for a new dawn, a new beginning laced with hope and good tidings. I hereby implore you all to work with me in the coming days for a greater glory in the forthcoming elections billed for 21 November, 2015. Let us all together chart a new cause for the glory of our mother land.

“Many thanks to all party men and women, professional bodies, craftsmen, okada riders, road transport workers. I owe you all a huge debt of gratitude. To our dear youths…full of refulgence and vigour who bared their chest to the cold of the night to ensure that victory is achieved, I say a very big thank you. You should not in light of the mood forget the task ahead, it can only be over when we record victory at the poll. My deep appreciation to all kogites for their prayers and support. May God bless you all. I thank you all. -Prince A Audu.
