Nasarawa begins youth Empowerment Scheme

The youth empowerment programme initiated by Governor Tanko Umaru Al-Makura of Nasarawa State has commenced.

No fewer than 1,000 youths are being trained in various skills in the programme which kicked off on Monday September 16 at the three senatorial zones of the state.

In a statement issued by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Empowerment, Murtala Adogi Mohammed, names of all the successful candidates for the training were released and posted in all the 13 local government secretariats in the state. He also advised those that applied to go and check the lists, while explaining that the empowerment programme is in collaboration with Industrial Training Fund (ITF) and will be conducted at the relevant technology centres in Lafia, Wamba and Nasarawa local government areas.

The SA, who is the facilitator and a coordinator on youth empowerment project, emphasized that the state government is committed in repositioning the youth sub-sector, specifically to sustainably increase the access of unemployed youth to entrepreneurial skills and employment opportunities for self-reliance and income security.
