Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has stressed the vital significance of the Foxes’ 2-1 away victory over West Brom in their bid to gain immediate promotion from the Championship.
Quoted in the club’s official website, the Nigerian international said “you could see how we acted on the bench and all the fans. It was really amazing because we actually needed it.”
Ndidi provided the assist for Kiernan Dewberry-Hall’s opener against Carlos Corberan’s men, before Harry Winks’ stoppage-time winner ultimately proved crucial to maintain their place at the summit.
The Foxes remain firmly on course for a top-flight return, with Ndidi acknowledging “it’s really tight…but we knew if we could get this, it’s really amazing because it gives us more steps ahead.”
With Enzo Maresca’s men set to welcome Plymouth Argyle this weekend, the midfielder’s remarks emphasize Saturday’s win and its positive impact on Leicester’s promotion aspirations
