New NUJ Patron, Okino, a great mobilizer- Kogi PDP chairman

The chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic party in Kogi state, Alhaji Hassan Salawu, has described the chairman of Ajaokuta local government a Aloysius Okino worthy representation of the party in the state.

The chairman who gave the commendation at the official conferment of the patron of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, (NUJ), Kogi State Cpdpouncil on Okino, weekend said that the chairman has lived up to expectation in the delivery of service to the people.

“Aloysius Okino is a young man, but has represented the party well in his assignment as the chairman of Ajaokuta and ALGON. He has lived up to expectation, so I am not surprised that NUJ has conferred on him the prestigious award of the patron of NUJ. I wished him well.

He said that the ruling party would continue to encouraged all elected and appointed officers on the platform of the party to deliver the good dividends of democracy to the people.

According to Salawu, the captain Idris Wada led administration in the last 22 months has been able to constructively engaged the youths in productive ventures as well as the revolution going on in the agricultural sector.

Earlier the chairman of NUJ Kogi state, Alhaji Ali Atabor, said the selection Okino for the award was due to his people based leadership in the last two years.

While maintaining that the NUJ award is not fore the highest bidder, he called on the awardees to justify the confidence reposed in them, saying that the union will noty hesitate to withdraw the honour if their found wanting.

In his response, the ALGON chairman maintained that politics is about service to the people, saying that he was willing more than ever before to reposition his council for effective service delivery.

He said as responsible officers, the council chairmen are responsive to the needs of their communities, stressing that the councils in Kogi state are striving very hard to deliver on their promises.

The chairman who was represented by his chief of staff, Hon. James Irikiti, called for concerted efforts on the part of all the citizenry, noting that the development of the society is a task for all.

Those honoured by NUJ include the chairman of Omala Local government area, Mall Labaran Oyigebe, a one time chairman of Kogi NUJ mall Sani Adamu, Hon Buba Jibril, member of the House of representatives and chairman of PDP, Alh Hassan Salawu.
