Kogi News: Gov Wada Approves N2Billion for Township Roads Reconstruction

Kogi state government has approved the re-construction of Okene,Lokoja,Idah and Egbe township roads at the cost of over N2billion naira.

The Kogi state Commissioner of Information, Mr. Yabaji Bologi who disclosed this while speaking with newsmen after the EXCO meeting at Government House Lokoja, stressed that the council also approved the establishment of the State Road Maintenance Agency and the sum of over N332 million was approved for the procurment of heavy duty equipments to commence its maintenance operation of all the state roads.

The road projects which were awarded to various to contractions company according to the commissioner is aimed at giving the urban areas across the state a face lift as well as boosting their socio-economic activities.

The Commissioner further disclosed that over N95 million naira was also considered by the council for the external electrification of the Post-Flood Housing Estate in Lokoja while N50 million naira was also approved for Women Empowerment in the state under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement with the Kogi Micro Finance Bank.

He noted that the PPP arrangement was aimed at ensuring that the lives of Women in the state were improved upon.
