The former President of the Nigeria Football Federation Aminu Maigari sold the potential slots of the Northern zone to predominately the South-South during the last Elective Congress in Warri, a northern FA chairman has revealed.
According to GongeNews, the Northern FA Chairmen, who spoke on anonymity, alleged the NFF elections in Warri that produced hosts FA Chairman, Amaju Pinnick as President of the NFF had over N325 million expended.
“Now, that Aminu Maigari has shut its door against the north by taking us to Warri where we were badly monetised for our conscience, walahi talahi, we got the type of money never expended in Nigerian football but we were not free to express our minds.
“They made us to realise that the ballot papers were marked. So, they will know where each person voted. Two, we know if Amaju Pinnick loses, they will just kidnap us and they will collect all they gave us.
“Obviously, after the Warri election, we realized how much Maigari has sold us to protect his personal interests. If we must remain relevant in the next four years as a region, it only makes more sense for the north to either fight back and ensure that we get our rights back or we massively join Chris Giwa, who is one of us.
“You won’t believe it, I have never made such money in my life in football like I did in Warri. Warri to us as individuals was good but it was like we took a gun and shot ourselves in the foot. We had finished the process before it occurred to us that we killed ourselves. We only followed the list they gave us without looking back.
“Let me tell you, we were told that the governor released N450million to Warri Wolves FC. It was from that vote they spent N325million to undertake the election.
“Check the board under Amaju, it is Maigari that is back in office. He cheated us in the north again. You know during his tenure (2010 to 2014), it is our slot he gave to Emeka Inyama. I don’t know what other magic can help us to correct this grave lesson of history, my heart has been bleeding since then.
