NFF holds stakeholders meeting in Kogi over suspended FA elections on Tuesday

The Nigeria Football Federation has suspended the newly fixed February 27 elective congress to produce new executive board of the Kogi State Football Association.

Secretary of the state FA, Mr Augustine Ogunmola confirmed to newsmen on Saturday, that the elections have been put on hold following a directive from the nation’s football ruling body, NFF.

Ogunmola said the chairman of the NFF Elections monitoring committee Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau will meet with state’s football stakeholders on Tuesday, February 24 to discuss and resolve issues affecting the conduct of the elections.

The retired referee also disclosed all electoral activities have been suspended until further notice hinting that a way forward on the elections will be chatted on Tuesday.

According to him, football administrators, coaches, players representatives, referees and sports writers as well as aspirants are expected in attendance for the meeting taking place at the Lokoja Confluence Stadium Indoor Sports Hall by 10am.

In would be recalled that four candidates entered the race for the chairmanship position which include Comrade Ibrahim Mohammed, Alhaji Umar Isah, Chief Peter Oguche and Honorable Hassan Yusuf.

Also earlier announced the three contestants vying for vice chairmanship seat were Hassan Wada, Shina Akande and Stephen Bello.

Membership aspirants are Prince George Daomi, Abdullahi Abdullahi, David Owolabi, Ohida Abdulayekini, Chogudo Ahmed, Charles Haruna, Henry Ameh, Dan Usman and Abiodun Olawale completes the list.
