The Nigeria Football Federation at the weekend issued stern warning to clubs in the Nigeria Nationwide League and host State Football Associations to be upright as the final matches of the season in the Divisions 1B and 1D are played on Tuesday, 6th August.
NFF’s Director of Competitions, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi said any club or host State FA found to be involved in any hanky-panky would be visited with severe sanctions.
“It is important that the clubs take a cue from what has happened to those four clubs involved in scandalous scorelines.
“The NFF will not hesitate to deal severely with any club found to be involved in dirty compromise or inducement, or any other silly game for that matter, and the host State FA will not be spared.”
In Tuesday’s final matches of the season in the aforementioned divisions, Atiba United square up against J. Atete in Oyo town, while Ajiroba Ooni and Go Round FC light up Ile-Ife. Canaan City host FC Inter and Court of Appeal take on Rhapsody in Lokoja.
