NGO set out to eradicate illiteracy before 2020 in Kogi

A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) which is known as Non-Governmental Association for for Literacy Support Service (NOGLASS) set to reduce rate of illiteracy in Kogi State.

The state Chairman of the association, Mr Noah Emmanuel who spoke in Lokoja on Monday said their is urgent need for all sundry to partner with the association so as to eradicate the level of illiteracy by the year 2020.

He disclosed that as part of his vision is to ensure that the education for all (EFA) is actualized in Kogi State, the NOGLASS, since its inception has established 330 literacy centres with not less than 6000 learners across the State.

Emmanuel said the association is ready is ready to put the State among the highest literate State in Nigeria.

“The association has planned to establish four more centres in each of the 229 ward of the State,” he said.

Emmanuel said the association has empowered many people in computer acquisition skills and that also create employment for graduates within the State.
