Nigeria’s Evelyn Nwabuoku Becomes France’s Guingamp First Summer Signing

En Avant de Guingamp have completed the signing of Nigeria international Evelyn Nwabouku on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The 30-year-old had helped Biik Kazygurt retained the Kazakhstan Women Premier league in 2015 and moved on to joined Ostersund DFF in April 2016 before parting ways with Swedish outfit.

The EAG Ladies are currently preparing for forthcoming 2016/2017 French Women Premier League campaigns have made the Super Falcons captain as their first signing in transfer window.

Sarah M’Barek’s side are hoping the Nigerian’s arrival will helped them compete favourably for title against top sides – the Paris-Saint Germain and Lyon next season.

Nwabuoku had led the Super Falcons to win the 2014 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in Namibia, Rivers lift double titles with Rivers Angels in the Nigeria Women Premier League and Federations Cup and qualified the country to the 2016 AWCON in Cameroon.

Guingamp finished eighth on the French Women topflight log with 47 points from 22 games.

Nwabuoku, who captained the Super Falcons to win the 2014 Africa Women Championship in Namibia as well as helped the Rivers Angels lift the Nigeria Women Premier League and Federations Cup titles and qualified the country to the 2015 All African Games in Brazaville, Congo.

She becomes the second Nigerian in the all France dominated side and teams up with her fellow compatriot Desire Oparanozie, who has been unsung for the side since arriving in 2014, netting 22 goals from 37 appearances.
