Nigeria Shooters miss 2016 Olympics after missing African Tourney for No funds

Nigeria Shooting Federation have missed a qualification ticket to the Rio 2016 Olympics after failing to participate in the Africa Shooting Championship held in Cairo, Egypt due to lack of fund.

The Africa Shooting Championship which was held from November 28th to December 7th went on despite Nigeria’s absence.

The athletes who were in camp for training lost hopes of going to the Rio 2016 Olympics qualifiers’ after the ministry of Youth and Sports could not meet up departure date.

Host country, Egypt pocket 10 of the awarded 14 slots, while Algeria, Namibia and Zambabwe.

More slots for the 2016 Olympic Games will be awarded in New Delhi (IND) in January and in Gyor (HUN) in February.
