President-General of the Nigeria Football and Other Sports Supporters Club, Dr. Rafiu Ladipo and members of the club have commiserated with the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Lagos State Council after a motor accident that claimed three and left some members of the Council hospitalized.
Ladipo, who said that the visit of the club to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja was to express the feelings of the members of the club and Nigerians in general.
“The news came to us as a surprise and I can tell you we were all shocked at what we heard.
“You know we travel these roads ourselves and whenever we arrive safely we thank God for journey mercies.
“It is our prayer that God will give you all quick recovery and with no time, you will all leave the hospital in good health.
“It is however unfortunate, the lives that were lost and we pray God grants their families the fortitude to bear the loss,” said Ladipo.
The accident, which occurred last Friday evening along Ilesa/Osogbo road was caused by a burst tyre which resulted in the death of three members of the NUJ.
Chairman and Secretary of the Lagos NUJ, Comrade Deji Elumoye and Sylva as well as chairman of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Chapel, Mrs. Bimbo Oyetunde were all seriously injured.
