The Kick-boxing Federation of Nigeria (KBFN) said it was working towards raising the sport’s standards through training for its practitioners in Nigeria.

In a statement signed by the Secretary General KBFN, Paul Okocha said that the training would be through a seminar scheduled for 1st to 6th March, 2016 at the Nigeria Army sports camp Morocco road, Yaba, Lagos state.

He said the program is geared towards preparing athletes and officials in readiness for the Africa Championship coming up soon.

Okocha said the six-day programme was designed for kick-boxers, coaches and referees and would be handled by certified and seasoned technical officers.

He added that the seminar is coming at a very good time, because it will help the federation plan well for any competition which will hold this year.

He stressed that they have such seminars at the international level, but finance and logistics poses major challenge to the officials who will want to participate.
