Nigeria’s Senchi defeats South Africa’s Keys to emerge Africa Badminton Confederation President


Justice Danlami Senchi has emerged president of the Badminton Confederation of Africa after defeating incumbent president Mr Larry Keys of South Africa in an elective congress staged in Australia.

Senchi, who is the Nigeria Badminton federation won the election held in faraway Gold Coast, Australia after amassing 63 votes as he ousted Keys, who only managed 32 votes.

The Nigerian sports administrator, who will lead the continental body until 2021, dedicated his victory is for all lovers of badminton both in Nigeria and beyond.

“Well let me give Allah the Glory for journey mercy because its a long trip leaving my continent of Africa to come contest for this big position,” Senchi told

“Its also interesting for you to know have dedicated the victory to all lovers of badminton even my friend Mr larry keys of the South Africa for all he’s been doing our confederation’ BCA’ I salute you.

“Finally, I believe it’s going to be a good era in BCA thus, I urged you to support me,” he concluded.
