Kogi United attacking midfielder, Abdulkadir Aminu has blamed hard luck for his side’s slender 0-1 loss to FRSC FC in their Week 24 Nigeria National League encounter on Saturday.
A second minute penalty converted by Bentu Austine was all FRSC needed to claim the maximum points in a pulsating match played at the Keffi Township Stadium in Nasarawa State.
Kogi United had their own scoring chances to level up but were not lucky to take them.
While describing the game as a balanced one, Aminu who was the match captain for Kogi United noted that his team mates gave their all in the match but were unlucky to leave Keffi without a point.
He added that the Confluence State boys will continue to fight till the end with the belief to end the season on a high.
“It’s unfortunate we lost this match, it was a balanced game, we played almost the same pattern, but they were lucky to get that penalty, we could have picked at least a point here, but we were not lucky to take our chances,” said Aminu.
He added: “We will not allow this game to weigh us down as we believe in ourselves, we will still push harder, and we hope we will get it right at the end, we want our fans to keep on supporting and praying for us, we will not let them down,” he concluded.
In another reaction after the game, head coach of FRSC, Bala Nikyu Kagoro admitted that his side were lucky to win the match as he expected that the Wada Boys would be too difficult for his team, just as he believed the victory would help Road Safety to escape relegation at the end of the season.
Kogi United will next host Jigawa Golden Stars in Lokoja on Saturday.
