The coach of DSS Fc of Kaduuna, Ishaya Jato has praised the huge support of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed to his opportunity, saying it is the reason behind their recent success, despite his heavy loss to Kwara United FC of Ilorin on Wednesday in a week 19 encounter of the Nigeria National League (NNL).

Kwara United whitewashed DSS by 5-0 with both Adeshina Gata and John Chukwudi scoring a brace each and debutant Jimoh Ahmed with the other goal.

Jato said Gov. Ahmed support to the Afonja Warriors is a big motivating factor that will keep a team like Kwara United going and challenge for promotion.

He urged other state governors to emulate Governor Ahmed because the game requires such support of the Kwara governor.

The DSS gaffer who said he has never been beaten 3-0 before added that the world cup break affected his wards and was full of praises for Samson Unuanel led Kwara United.

“Because the players went on break that why the game turned back to me like that. It is a good game, Kwara United played better. If they keep up with the tempo of what I saw today, they will surely gain promotion to the Glo Premeir League.

“The governor is supporting the team very well, they are well motivated that was why the players are playing with all their hearts,” Jato said.

The former Nigeria international noted that the officiating of the match was good and promised to go back to drawing board to re-strategise again.

Adeshina Gata who won the best young player for the team in the first round of the league, opened the floodgate of goals for the host in the 45th minute with a beautiful finish after many mouth watering chances missed by many of the Afonja Warriors players with John Chukwudi the most culprit.

Gata added his goal number of the match seven minutes into the second half while John Chukwudi relieved the aggrieved fans six minute later.

Debutant Jimoh Ahmed only lasted just two minutes on the pitch before putting himself on the scoring sheet with a beautiful finish curling the ball to the right corner of the post.

Chukwudi completed the rout with seconds left on the normal time giving the host a five star victory.
