NNL: I’ve Never Promised Players, Officials cars, cash – Amb Giwa
The Proprietor of GIWA Football Club of Jos, Ambassador Chris Giwa has refuted claims in the media over promises to reward the players and officials if they gain promotion the to the elite Glo Nigeria Professional Football League.
Ambassador Giwa in a telephone chat with SavidNews on Tuesday stated that reports circulated in the media over promises to give car and N1 million were not true.
The trusted Politician and Businessman told SavidNews emphatically that the reports were the figment of the writes, stressing that he could not remember promising such incentives.
“Where did you hear that? – i don’t know where people got the untrue report from. There is no promise of such because the players don’t lack anything in terms of entitlements and remuneration to the best of my knowledge,” he blasted.
The former Chairman of Plateau United and former Special Adviser to Plateau State government explained that such reports continues to embarrass his personality.
“I’ve never at any point or time promised to give the boys or officials car and N1 million each if they secure promotion to the Premier League – the reports are discouraging and earlier stop peddling rumours, the better for the team and the players,” he advised.
The Jos based Nigeria National League side has confirmed it promotion into the Glo Premier League with four matches to spear.
