NNL: Kogi United upbeat despite fall to Sunshine Stars

Management of Kogi United Football Club has assured that the Lokoja-based boys will continue to get better in its preparation for the 2013/2014 Nigeria National League season.

The Coach Osho Fatai led Nigeria National League campaigners saw their thirteen matches unbeaten run terminated after Akure-based Sunshine Stars’ three second half goals condemned the Confluence boys to a 3-0 defeat in Ijebu-Ode yesterday.

Speaking the SavidNews.com after the defeat, Mr Tijjani Ibrahim the club’s secretary stated that the team was bothered by the defeat, but picked some positives from the defeat.

He said the technical crew and players have identified their mistakes and will correct them as they complete their preparation for the league proper.

“It’s the pre-season for us, we are happy with the test and will continue to improve ahead of the league games. the coaches are working hard to ensure the team is prepared for the rigors of the league.

“We are disappointed suffering our first defeat in our pre-season matches. We played very well, had our chances but could not take them. Playing against a good side in Sunshine stars and focused on correcting our mistakes discovered in the match,” he added.

Kogi United will take on Ekiti United for the last friendly matches in their pre-season tour ahead of the 2013/2014 Nigeria National League season.
