After a 0-0 draw at home to Shootings Stars of Ibadan in the opening game for Remo Stars in the Nigeria National League, the Sky Blue Stars responded by securing a point on the road.
Taking on Mountain Of Fire Ministry Football Club in week 2, Remo Stars FC played out a one all draw with the Lagos based side despite the controversial decision reached by the center referee Isaac Oyaleran from Oyo State.
MFM scored the opener as early as the second minute of the game as Alashe Ajibola slow shot was cleared of the line by Osas Peter but Center ref Oyelaran gave the goal while AR1 Suleiman Yakubu ruled for a Corner-Kick.
The Sky Blue Stars leveled things up 3 minutes later as Osas Peter headed in a Corner kick to make the scores 1-1.
The head coach Shola Adewuyi was impressed with the performance his lads showed.
“Well am happy with the way things turned out. We were determined to getting a result here in Lagos and am glad we achieved that despite all the controversy surrounding the game.”
“We were prepared for such controversy on the road we knew things could even get ugly so we tried as much as possible to discipline ourselves and stick to our game plan. This is a good result for us and we can only build on it.”
