NNPC Ltd expresses condolences to Tijani Babangida over family tragedy
NNPC Ltd has extended its heartfelt condolences to Nigeria’s Ex-International, Tijjani Babangida, following the tragic loss of his son, Fadil, and brother, Ibrahim Babangida.
The devastating road accident occurred on Saturday, May 11th, 2024, along the Zaria-Kaduna Road, leaving Babangida and his wife with serious injuries. Both are currently receiving medical treatment.
During the visit, GCEO of NNPC Ltd, Mr. Mele Kyari, represented by the Company’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Mr. Olufemi Soneye, conveyed the Company’s deep sympathy to the Babangida family.
He prayed for God’s mercy on the souls of the departed and wished a speedy recovery for Tijjani Babangida and his wife.
In February 2024, Tijjani Babangida was part of a team of Nigeria’s Ex-Internationals, led by the legendary Austin Jay Jay Okocha, who participated in a novelty football match at the grand finale of the 13th NNPC Sports Fiesta at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
In his response, Babangida expressed his gratitude to NNPC Ltd for their support during this difficult time.
He acknowledged that while the loss of loved ones is irreplaceable, the Company’s kind gesture has provided him with additional strength to cope with the tragedy.
