Lokoja FC’s first choice goalkeeper, Godwin Tale commended his teammates for the fighting spirit displayed in Markudi, urging them to keep focus in the bid for the long awaited return to the National League.
The Kogi U17 ace in phone chat with Graphics Sports, assured the club fans that the team “are more determined than ever before to break into the Nigeria second tier league this season”, adding that he and his teammates have “learnt their lessons and prepared to return back to winning ways”.
Nigeria Nationwide League side FC Lokoja failed to extend their unbeaten run in three consecutive matches when they lost 2-1 to Lobi Stars Juniors in Markudi at the weekend.
Arguably the oldest club in the Nigeria’s third division, the Lokoja boys had their Kogi United import striker Obinna Martins’ lone goal was not enough to snatch a valuable point.
The Lokoja side has played four games recording two wins, two defeats, with double 1-0, 4-2 win over Gokona United and Bussdors United respectively at the Confluence Stadium in Lokoja in the underway Nigeria Nationwide League season.
