No Easter break for Super Falcons – Edwin Okon

Super Falcons’ head coach Edwin Okon has said there will be no Easter celebration break for the players of the senior women’s national team.

The Nigeria’s senior women’s national team will in an international friendly take on the Indomitable Lioness of Cameroon on April 29 at the National Stadium in Abuja.okon 2

Chief Coach of the team, Edwin Okon who disclosed this said that there are still much to do that he could not risk allowing the players to go on Easter break with an international friendly game coming up on April 29.

Okon said that no player will be released for this weekend matches for their respective clubs.

“There will be no Easter break for any one of us. We shall all do the Easter on the pitch because we want to focus on the matches ahead of us. No player will be released to their club nor be allowed to go on any break

“We would perhaps only go on break after the friendly match against Cameroon. We hope to use the Easter break to strategize and perfect plans for the matches ahead,” he was qoauted as saying by the team’s media officer, Gracious Akunjobi.

Super Falcons resumed camp on April 1st for the final phase of preparation for the 2014 African Women Championship qualifier against Rwanda in May.
