Norwich City have confirmed the signing of Joseph Yobo until the end of the season.
The club sent out a tweet soon after 7pm on Thursday saying: “#NCFC can confirm the loan signing of Joseph Yobo from Fenerbahce until the end of the season, subject to governing body approval.”
obo, 33, joins the Canaries on a loan deal until the end of the current campaign and will bolster manager Chris Hughton’s defensive options with centre-half Michael Turner still on the sidelines.
The Nigerian international returns to the Premier League having spent three-and-a-half years with the Istanbul outfit.
A delighted Hughton told the club’s official website: “As most know we’ve got a problem with Michael Turner, who’s got a hamstring pull which will continue to keep him out for a fair amount of time, so it’s an area we needed to fill.
“Of course what Joseph is about is that he’s someone who knows this division very well, and has great experience.”
Yobo spent eight years in England with Everton making over 250 appearances for the Toffees during the reign of David Moyes.
Since departing Goodison Park in 2010, Yobo has played 100 times for Fenerbahce scoring twice.
