Dolphins will hope to win a derby game at the Sharks Stadium for the first time in more than ten years.

Since the club was renamed Dolphins from Eagle Cement, they have only been able to pick draws at the Sharks Stadium, 1-1 in 2003, 0-0 in 2010 and 0-0 in 2013.

Other times Dolphins have visited the Sharks stadium they lost.

Absentee players for Dolphins, Ifeanyi Egwim and Fred Okwara will play no part in the derby.

Both have started all three games for the club this season as double pivot in attack with Egwim getting on the score sheet twice. They have been replaced in the derby day squad with Omo Johnson and Ebube Okpokwu who have only had cameo appearances for the club against Sunshine Stars and Crown respectively.

Another absentee is Hope Fiberesima who has been a stalwart in the midfield for the club this season but was given the marching orders against Sunshine stars last week.

Stone Evbuomwan or Emeka Atuloma may get their chance to start against Sharks due to the absence of Fiberesima.

Evbuomwan has been on the match day squad once before (against Heartland) but did not play while Atuloma has come off the bench twice, against Heartland and Sunshine but is yet to start a game this season.

Sunday Rotimi returns to the match day squad after sitting out the last game against Sunshine Stars. Pius Ibrahim was his replacement in that game.

Former Senegal U23 captain, Xavier Mendy also returns to the match day squad. He was in the travelling party to Ibadan but did not get to play and is yet to make his debut.

Stone Evbuomwan travelled to Owerri but did not play any part in that game. He might get his chance against Sharks.

In 2012/13 season, the game at the Sharks Stadium ended 0-0 while at the Liberation stadium it was Dolphins 1-2 Sharks.

In the 2011/2 season Sharks beat Dolphins 3-1 at the Sharks Stadium and at the Liberation Stadium, Dolphins won 1-0.

Dolphins have played three games already this season; one at home and two on the road.

In Port Harcourt it was a 2-1 win against Sunshine Stars while on the road the game against Heartland ended 1-1 and it was a 2-1 loss for Dolphins on the road to Crown.
