Newly promoted Mountain of Fire Ministries (MFM) Football Club has been talking tough ahead of the start of the 2016 Nigeria Professional Football League.

The Olukoya-Boys recently gained promotion to the elite division from the second tier league and will be featuring in Nigeria’s top-flight for the very first time but the club is fancying its chances amongst the country’s elite.

Speaking to Goal, left-back Julius Emiloju says the team’s target will be to perform like Leicester City in the English Premier League in the coming season, and shock even their keenest critics.

“We have played quality friendly matches to toughen us for our debut campaign in the elite division. Hopefully, the warm up games should put us in the right frame of mind when the season eventually gets underway,” Emiloju told Goal.

“A lot of people have written us off but like Leicester City Football Club of England we want to make names for ourselves. Anyone that underrates MFM FC does that at his own peril,” he added.

The youngster went on to salute the club’s administration for the role they have played in their journey so far.

“First of all, my appreciation goes to God for leading us right through our General Oversea Dr DK Olukoya, who has always been our pillar and strength.

“The management, coaches, players and fans also played important roles in our promotion to the NPFL,” he added.
