Sunshine Stars recorded their first away win of the season against Abia Warriors in a Week 19 match played at the Umuahia Township Stadium on Sunday.

Coach Solomon Ogbeide’s side needed the strike of Razaq Adegbite and Dele Olorundare to sink their hosts in Umuahia 2-1 – their first win since November 2015.

Interestingly, the opening goal from Adegbite‘s ended Sunshine Stars’ run of seven hours 28 minutes of play in away games without scoring a goal. It was the first defeat for coach Kenedy Boboye in first encounter against his former employers.

In other results, Rangers were held at home by Heartland to a 0-0 draw in Enugum while Kano Pillars picked a valuable away point in 0-0 draw at newcomers Plateau United.

Chima Akas strike earned Enyimba a narrow home win against Nasarawa United while Wikki Tourists hammered struggling Ikorodu United 3-0.

Warri Wolves brushed aside El Kanemi Warriors 3-1 as Akwa United also recorded a clinical 2-0 victory against visiting Shooying Stars and Ifeanyi Ubah bashed Niger Tornadoes 2-0.
