The Bauchi team got demoted to the lower league two seasons ago but they approached Abdulrahman who was reputed for leading clubs from relegation back to the top flight and he did what his terms of reference indicated by ensuring that Wikki Tourists returned to the premier league at the end of last season ahead of other clubs in the Nigeria National League A.

Despite the feat recorded by Abdulrahman, the club asked the coach to go after the expiration of his contract and that he could reapply if he so desired.

Over six coaches came for the interview and Wikki Tourists settled for Maikaba who has also worked with Enyimba and Sharks before.

The Media officer of Wikki, Usman Abbas Gunguru told Goal that the new Technical Adviser would be unveiled to the players and the management on Saturday as the club begin build up to life in the premier league.

“We have settled for Maikaba out of the lot that came for interview. We will unveil him on Saturday to all that matter in the club. We are expecting a good show in the premier league and we don’t want to leave any stone unturned. We are hoping for the best,” Gunguru told Goal.

Wikki and Kwara United qualified from National League Group A while 3SC and Gabros emerged from Group B.
