Nigeria Women Football League side Confluence Queens despite the presence of Kogi State Sports Commissioner, Puke Anthony suffered their first league loss in six matches after losing 1-0 to Standard Babes in Aba in a week-18 match on Sunday.

A final day match encounter which was overshadowed by plenty halts after complaint raised by visiting Lokoja side over four players allegedly fielded by the home side Standard Babes.

Confluence Queens conceded an early goal in the 30th minutes but could not reply the goal before full time.

The loss puts the Lokoja ladies hope our playing in the proposed Women Premier League in doubt as they finished a place below the first six.

Confluence Queens last Thursday crashed out of the ongoing Federation Cup at the expense of defending champions, Rivers Angels 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw at full-time.

The Kogi state sponsored Women club can only bank on legal bids to resuscitate their topflight bid following protest lodged over the ineligible player allegedly fielded by Standard Babes.
