Governor Yahaya Bello commiserates with Okun people over the demise of the Obaro of Kabba, HRM Oba Dr. Michael Olobayo, OON (JP).

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has expressed shock over the demise of the Obaro of Kabba, HRM Oba Michael Olobayo, describing the death of the Chairman of the Okun Traditional Council as an irreparable loss to the people of Kabba, Kogi State and the nation at large.

The Governor, who described the departed royal father as an invaluable light of the government, said the shoes left behind by the late Oba Olobayo will be too large for anyone to wear.

Governor Bello hailed the sterling contributions of the departed hero to the socio-economic cum development of the state and especially, his reign of peace and pragmatic leadership which endeared him to the people.

He called on the people of Kabba to remain calm and ensure that the peace the departed Royal Father died for is not harassed by his departure, pledging the support of the State Government to the people at this critical stage of their cultural history.

The Governor said the present generation of Kogi people must learn from the leadership qualities of the late Oba as a selfless, patriotic, detribalized and industrious royal father who will be remembered for uniting his people during critical periods.

He prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed and for the Kabba, Okun, Kogi and Nigerians to garner the fortitude to bear the great loss.
