Olumide Bamiduro appointed new Director of FEAD
Olumide Bamiduro has been named the new Director of the Federation of Elite Athletes Department, FEAD, at the Federal Ministry of Sports Development.
Bamiduro was appointed following the removal of Amaka Ashiofu by the Head of Civil Service.
Ashiofu had reportedly been wrongfully appointed to succeed, in an acting capacity, the retiring Simon Ebojdjaye in August last year.
Bamiduro, a graduate of Physical and Health Education from the University of Ilorin 1988-1991, is one of the best Secretary Generals of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) and will now head a department many consider as the ‘engine room’ of the Federal Ministry of Sports Development.
The University of Ilorin Product also attended Witwatersrand University, Johannesburg, South Africa in 2013 where he bagged New Managers Program in Sports Administration.
He was commended as ‘a good manager of men, materials and situation’, by Professor Ogunjimi Olusegun.
Before his new position, Bamiduro was the secretary of the Cycling Federation of Nigeria, the Badminton Federation of Nigeria, Nigeria Wrestling Federation among the national Federations he had handled.
He has also worked with the National Sports Commission.
