Oyo SWAN Week Begins Seyi Makinde 5-Aside Football Tourney
The 2013 edition of the Oyo State chapter of the Sports Writers’ Association of Nigeria (SWAN) week celebration will get underway Tuesday with the Oyo SWAN/Seyi Makinde Inter-
Media Five-Aside Football Competition.
According to a release signed by Sola Oladapo and Tosin Omojola, chairman and secretary of the organizing committee, 12 chapels will begin the soccer contest which will commence with the knockout stage after which the victorious six teams will be divided into two groups for a round robin where the first two teams will qualify for the semi final stage.
This year’s edition of the soccer contest would be unique as it is being sponsored by renowned politician, Engineer Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde.
According to the knockout stage fixtures, the NTA football team will trade tackles with State Information chapel, Arsenal Focus will confront Oodua News, while FRCN will slug it with the Correspondent chapel with Splash FM locking horns with MITV.
In the other pairings, BCOS and Federal Information will clash while the Tribune team will face Federated. All the matches will hold inside the main bowl of the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba beginning from 9.00am.
