Nigeria wrestler Blessing Oborodudu missed out on a bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics on Tuesday.
Oborodudu lost her bronze medal match 3-0 to Nonoka Ozaki from Japan.
She missed the chance of qualifying for the final after a 3-1 loss to Meerim Zhurmanazarova of Kazakhstan in the semi-final.
She has won a gold medal at the African Wrestling Championships every year for the last 11 years, except for 2012 when she did not enter due to competing in the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Oborodudu has two gold medals to her name at the Commonwealth Games in 2018 (Gold Coast) and 2022 (Birmingham).
Added to the above are silver and bronze medals in the 2010 (Delhi) and 2014 (Glasgow) Commonwealth Games.
In Tokyo 2020, she became the first Nigeria wrestler to win a medal at the Olympics.
Team Nigeria ended Day 11 at the Olympics without a medal and is still in search of their first medal at the games.
