Nigeria athlete Temitope Adeshina crashed out of the women’s long jump event at the Paris 2024 Olympics on Friday.

She finished ninth in Group B of the women’s high jump event, missing her three attempts at 1.92m.

Initially, she cleared her first attempt in 1.86m.

Only 12 athletes from the two groups progressed to the final.

The result ensured that she wouldn’t make it to the final of the event.

The Olympic debutant will be hopeful of better performances in future engagements after breaking the Nigerian record of 1.97m.

Tope is the first Nigerian high jumper to qualify for the Olympics since Doreen Amata in 2016.
