PDP Kogi Primary: Why Echocho lost governorship ticket to Gov Wada

The alleged money provided as succuor for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) delegates from Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State may have been diverted by some suspected leaders who deliberately did not disburse the money for the purpose it was meant for.

According to impeccable sources who don’t want their names in print disclosed to our reporter shortly after the announcement of Capt. Idris Wada as the winner of the party’s governorship primary election held at Confluence Stadium Lokoja blaming the failure of Alhaji Jibril Isah Echocho on the inability of the leaders to give the delegates the money.

The source further revealed that some of the notable politicians involved in this scam includes, Hon. Funsho Emmanuel, Hon. JFK Oni Chopchop, the Kabba/ Bunu coordinator of Echocho campaign organization etc.

The delegates who were of the opinion that if the money were given to them, that might change the game in favor of Echocho, noting that if the leaders who went away with the money did not return it, will have themselves to blame.

Meanwhile, one of the leaders who spoke to our reporter via telephone confirmed that the total money due for the delegates from the area is #7.8million and they only received the sum of 5million naria on behalf of the local government delegates due to inadequate of funds, stressing that the money were disbursed to people that they were sure that will vote for their principal across 12 wards of the council.

He said it is open secret that everybody is aware of the amount they collected from the source. He noted that anyone that did not get the money were delegates who they are not sure of.
