PDP Kogi West Senate Polls: Dino Melaye reacts as Tajudeen Yusuf wins Senatorial primary

Hon. Tajudeen Yusuf has emerged as the winner of the primary elections of the PDP for Kogi West Senatorial District following a re-run election victory over Senator Dino Melaye on Tuesday.

Third term member of House of Representative for Kabba, Bunu, Ijumu Federation Constituency, Honorable Yusuf defeated Senator Melaye by 163 to 99 votes to nick the PDP ticket after an earlier tie.

After being declared the winner, Senatorial aspirant Yusuf commended the peaceful conduct of the primaries, promising to continue with his good work and vows to extended the olive branch to his co- contestants, while urging them to join hands with him to win the general election.

“I feel very happy, i thank Almighty God, only Him has done this most importantly, i thank my family, my leaders and supporters, they have given me all support for this past few months, they have lost me because of this election,” Teejay as fondly called by his party supporters.

“I give them thanks, thank my mother for being a wonderful mother for her prayers and best wishes. I thank executives across the seven local government, delegates, all party faithfuls and host of other leaders, whatever you ask us to do, we will do and promise not to disappoint you all.

“Thank you so much for providing the enabling environment for me to come out victorious, let me thank the hierarchy of PDP in Abuja led by the National chairman, Dr Iyorchia Ayu, and that of kogi west senatorial district Hon chief Sam Abenemi, the Deputy state chairman for allowing transparency in all the processes that has happened today,” he concluded.

Reacting to the development, Senator Melaye, former two-time elected representative of Kogi West in the Senate, has congratulated Honorable Yusuf on his emergence.
