“I would like to appeal to the Federal government to show more practical commitment to sporting activities by establishing neighbourhood sporting and recreational centres that would be well equipped with modern sporting facilities in order to pre-occupy our idle youths as this is the trend in the modern and advance societies. This would also serve as a means of engaging the youths productively as they would have no time and energy to dissipate on crime and violence of any dimension.
“As part of our commitment to the development of youths in the field of sports, my organisation has resolved to partner with the Nigerian Football Coaches Association in organising an annual football championship for both male and female categories in secondary school in FCT in the commemoration of subsequent peace day celebrations.
Towards this end, I am donating two trophies for the maiden edition of the championship expected to be hosted in the year, 2014,” he stated.
