Plateau United handed league leaders Wikki Tourists a 2-0 defeat, as Daddy Francis and Anayo Ogbonna both got on the score-sheet at the Rwang Pam Stadium on Sunday.

United got off to a bright start as they put pressure on the Wikki Tourists defence in the opening exchanges, but the hosts were unable to really test Emeka Nwabulu.

Despite a dominant performance in the first 45 minutes, the hosts surprisingly failed to find the back of the net.

The second half was all United, as the Jos-side dominated in terms of possession and chances created, with a number of shots coming in from range.

They were duly rewarded after a great control from substitute Daddy, who slotted home in the 70th minute.

Anayo made it 2-0 to United eight minutes later, with a composed finish.

The loss for Wikki is their sixth defeat of the season and they still remain in 1st position in the Nigeria Professional Football League standings with 41 points, while Plateau United are still in the relegation zone with 26 points.
