President Muhammadu Buhari has withdrawn nominee Ahmed Isa Ibeto, representing Niger State from the ministerial nominee list.
Senate President, Bukola Saraki confirmed the withdrawal notice of the former Niger state deputy governor on the floor of the Senate on Wednesday.
Saraki said the withdrawal was contained in a letter President Buhari sent to the Senate but further explained no reason was offered for the withdrawal of Ibeto.
Earlier on Tuesday, social media arguments arose yesterday over the ministerial nomination of Ahmed Isa Ibeto and Abubakar Bawa, who were both argued to have come from Niger State.
Following the withdrawal, the Senate will now have 36 ministerial nominees to screen with 18 candidates already cleared as at the time of filing this report.
