PTAD disburses N846.1m to 2,720 retirees

The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) says it had paid N846.1 million to 2,730 Civil Service Pension Department pensioners.

According to NAN, Sulayman Shelleng, the Executive Secretary of PTAD, disclosed this on Friday in a statement released by the agency’s corporate communications department.

The agency explained that the sum paid was accrued arrears and gratuity owned to the pensioners.

Shelleng also explained that the benefitting retirees ranged from previously verified pensioners who are not on the payroll to those who did not receive their gratuity on retirement, as well as others affected by failed payments on the GIFMIS platform.

The PTAD boss stressed that the payment would be continued until all accrued arrears are cleared.

He assured other pensioners who are yet to receive their arrears to be calm, noting that the directorate is working tirelessly to clear all outstanding pensions and gratuities.
