Reigning World Champions Nigeria face Niger in 2017 African U17 qualifier

Nigeria U17 team will play Niger Republic in the second round of the 2017 U17 Africa Cup of Nations.
According to the fixtures released by the Confederation of African Football, the Golden Eaglets who are reigning world champions will face the west African team for a place in the 12th edition of the African cadet championship.

Winner of this round will face Gabon or the winner between Libya and Algeria game.

Seven teams will emerge from the qualifiers to join the hosts for the final tournaments early next year.

The final tournament of the U17 Africa Cup of Nations will be held from 2-16 April 2017 in Madagascar.

The top four finishers at the continental championship qualify to represent Africa at the respective Fifa U17 World Cup in India.

Nigeria have won the African title twice in 2001 (Seychelles) and 2007 (Togo).
