Source disclosed that the four players received a letter reportedly initiated by Team Manager, Ahmed Sulieman who have been handed six-match suspension following an unsporting role in abating the assault of a match official diplomatically signed by Team secretary earlier in the week.

According to top source, the dropped four players were alerted that the decision was allegedly meted out by the Kogi state Commissioner of Sports, Mr Puke Anthony.

Our investigation took a swift visit on the Kogi Sports Commissioner, Puke Anthony, who failed to respond to call but reliable sources close to the Ministry of Sports boss admits huge frustrations following increasing reports surrounding plots to see him out of office.

The grapevine indicated that the Commissioner was not in the known of the four Kogi United players’ contract termination but the team manager.

It further hinted that the veteran scrabble player who seems to have lost control has long seize to be drawn to team managerial matters after the Kogi government sponsored club noting external forces with keen interest closer to the governor on the club rooting for his removal.

We gathered that the Ministry of Sports boss and the Kogi United Team Manager owing to potential move to strip control of the state-owned clubs off the Sports Ministry for the governor proposed board set-up.

The Governor Idris Wada’s sponsored Nigerian second tier side suffered a 3-point deduction to FC Taraba after losing an appeal in replayed fixture owing to the presence of the Kogi state governor at the supposedly closed-door match at the Kogi Confluence stadium, Lokoja.

Relegation-condemned Kogi United despite regaining 3-point lost to Jigawa Golden stars for allegedly fielding ineligible player are still five points behind closest-relegation struggler and last home match opponent, Spotlight Fc of Kano in the Nigeria National League pool A.
