NNL: Remo Stars fall to Gabros in Nnewi, duo U20 call-up pleases Adewuyi

Remo Stars football club suffered their first defeat of the season in Nnewi to Gabros FC in the week 4 of the Nigeria National League.remo stars 1

The Sky Blue Stars stood against all odds and held the Anaedo boys in the first 45 minutes and in the second half fell a goal down after Okereke Madubuchi’s header from a corner kick hit the cross bar and bounced off the line.

Remo Stars tried to claw back into the game and were denied a clear penalty appeal after Victor Mbaoma was pulled down in the box in second half of the encounter.

Adewuyi was pleased despite the loss and believes his team will bounce back.

“Well we played well but we can rule out the fact that we lost and I must appreciate the effort of the boys cause they played to instructions.

“We gave a good account of ourselves, the fans were entertained and with this we can only improve and get better.”

On two of his players been called up to the U20 National Camp.

“Well it’s part of football, at time injures happen or players been absent due to National obligations. Am quiet happy for both players and we have good legs to replace both Mbaoma and Aremu.”

Remo stars welcome ABS FC to Ijebu-Ode in week 5.
