Residents laud Oshiomhole, thank God for sparing Gov’s life
Residents of Benin Metropolis trooped out to applaud the developmental strides of Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole during his inspection tour in parts of Benin City, the state capital.
The residents who turned out trooped out to shower praises on the Governor and thank God for sparing his life in an auto accident, during the Governor’s inspection of the level of compliance with the state’s sanitation laws at the Oba Market, New Benin market and New Lagos Roads, yesterday, said the governor has performed beyond their expectations.
Mrs Mary Igbinovia, who resides on Igbinaduwa Street, expressed appreciation to the governor for his timely intervention in the erosion problem which had been a menace in the area said a number of lives had been lost to erosion in the area before the governor’s intervention.
According to her, “Today, the governor has constructed the drainage system that channels the flood to Ogba River. In fact we are full of joy, God will continue to help you to do more. We thank God for sparing your life because you still have more to do for the state”, she said.
At the Yanga Market, the Market’s Women Leader, Mrs Grace Eghaghe also commended the governor for the ongoing beautification exercise in the Benin Metropolis. She said the capital had never had it this good.
While addressing the tumultuous crowd of Market Women and other well-wishers, Governor Oshiomhole commended the market women for keeping the Oba market environment clean and urged them not to relent in their efforts towards making Edo the cleanest state in the country.
According to the Governor “I had an accident, but you know God is wonderful! We are back to our job and nothing is wrong. I want to thank the residents of Edo State for their prayers and support for this government”.
