Returned president of the Nigeria Football Fedration (NFF), Alhaji Aminu Maigari has said that his plan to return to office is for all parties in the current football ruling house’s impasse to sheathe their swords and allow peace reign.
“My brother, it has not been easy, but in everything, we thank God because gradually, peace, which is paramount in everything in life, is returning,” Maigari said on Friday, according to report from Tribunesports.
He added: “True, no single individual is bigger than Nigeria football, but in the interest of the youth of this country, let’s forge ahead.”
Maigari went on to thank the sports minister for the role he and other well-meaning Nigerians have played to resolve the crisis.
“I will not want to lay claims to wisdom in running the game, this thing is all about us, so why should we be fighting each other?”
He stated that he is ready to sacrifice anything to make Nigeria football move forward.
Asked if he is ready to recontest, he smiled and waved off the question, “Let’s leave that for now, I won’t say anything on that for now, what I want now is full reconciliation of all parties in the interest of Nigeria and her teeming youths.”
