Rio 2016: AFN Invites Ese Brume, 15 Others To Port Harcourt

As Nigeria intensifies her preparations for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in August, the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), has invited Nigeria’s long jump gold medalist at the last Commonwealth gold medalist in Glasgow, Scotland, Ese Brume, as well as 15 other athletes to the athletics’ federation’s Port Harcourt camp to begin training.

The best performers at last Tuesday’s Over-distance competition organised by AFN at the University of Port Harcourt’s AFN High Performance Centre – Knowledge Omovoh, Okolosi Oghenekome, Odele Tega, Akerele Atanda, Avnaherhe Oke, Simeon Friday, Afam Ogbuagu – will be joined by Ogbonna Prosper, Afeez Abduraman, Odigbo Rita, Nwichi Ngozi, Isah Salihu, Ugochukwu Ottah, Ehige Josephine and Igbinosun Isoken.

Kayode Yahaya, the only coach invited by the federation, will be put the invitees through their paces at the camp.
